India unveils its 1-Lakh Car

10 years ago, Tata Motors Ltd unveiled its first passenger car, the Indica. Today, it has launched the Rs 1 lakh car, which is almost half the price of its competitors. The Tata people’s car may have come at the right time for India, set, as it is, to bring a revolution in transportation. However, environmental concerns around it are mounting. The Greens say the car will further choke India’s roads and make India more dependent on oil
